3 Ridiculously Easy Stretches To Offset Sitting

I want to share three easy, yoga pose-inspired moves you can try right now at home, no experience or equipment required.

Did you know I became a certified Yoga instructor over a year ago 🧘‍♂️Yep and even though I’ve practiced for more than 30 years ...I’ve never taught a public class 🤷‍♀️

No matter, I want to serve.. and how I do it best ..is giving you simple, easy solutions that  makes you better💥

Starting in an upright position, clasp your hands overhead and reach your arms toward one side of the room until you feel a gentle stretch in your opposite side. Hold for three breaths, then repeat on the other side. It’s a great way to melt away any tension that builds up along your rib cage and arms during the day!

To begin, ground your feet on the floor and bend forward from your hips, lowering your torso toward bent knees. Bring your palms or fingertips to the floor, or cross your arms and hold onto opposite elbows. Hold for three breaths, then slowly roll up to a standing position. Trust me after a few hours of sitting, it’s a quick and effective way to release the lower back. In yoga they call it the “Rag Doll Pose” for some reason it always resonated with me. Maybe because as I age ... I find it easier to go limp .. relax and let things go 🙌

For legs in need of loosening their legs👇

Start by sitting on the floor with one leg straight out in front of you and the other bent so that the sole of the foot rests against your opposite inner thigh above the knee joint. With your body squared over the extended leg, reach your fingers toward your foot, lengthening your torso and lowering your belly toward the thigh as you extend. 👉Just breathe into the stretch and hold for three to six breaths.. Then repeat on the other side.
